Amazing Growth

Honestly it is a little hard to believe this blog is almost 2, the growth we have seen is pretty incredible. Had a huge 2022, followed up by a bit of a slowdown in 2023 and already matched our 2022 output and it's only April! Big shout out to people in general.

We are skipping all the content we lined up in 2023 and jumping straight to today. What happened today is a bit of a rollercoaster and you guys have the front seats.

To set the stage a little we were having our regular monthly company wide meeting and it was a pretty big deal for me personally. Celebrating a 1 year anniversary, got a few shoutouts for a recent project, and the CEO gave a rousing speech. Afterwards we were having some pizza and hanging out with a couple of co-workers. Chat's were okay but I wanted to catch the 5:53 PM train home. It was 5:30 PM and I know I usually have to leave 13 minutes before the scheduled departure time to catch the train (for instance if the train leaves at 5:08 PM I have to leave at 4:55 PM). I was in the heat of convo though and was not thinking clearly. Had a bit of a buzz from a seltzer I had downed during the meeting. Because it was 5:30 PM I thought that I had to leave, and this morning was raining so I did not have my bike: could I run as fast as I bike???

I set out to find out. I dodged through some traffic, hopped over a few puddles, everyone was staring thinking who's this guy? Why is he so fast? As I was rounding the corner at University I caught sight of a clock in the window saying 5:38 PM and thought I was cooked, having only 4 minutes to get into Union and on the train. I started to really move at this point, one lady clutched her hat as I sped by.

I get to Union and realized it was 5:43 PM, a full 10 minutes before my train left!!! This was a little annoying because I would not have made it if it was actually the time I thought it was.

This story reminds me of ANOTHER story which happened earlier this week (Tuesday) where I was driving to the GO station in Newmarket after dropping off Hen. I was stressing and it was 7:42 AM and the train SHOULD come at 7:46 AM. I was stopped on the wrong side of the tracks, and so needed to cross them and make a left hand turn before the train came. I was shattered to see the crossing lights come on, but the arms didn't come down! Turns out the lights flash for a time as the train comes to a stop in the previous station. I was able to make the train and all was okay!
